Making an instant impact.

As with any retailer, it’s about getting the tills ringing, so when start-up business Union Jack’s opened their doors in October 2011 they wanted people through the doors as soon as possible.

The first job was making sure that people actually knew the shop existed, where it was located and of course that it sold British foods and other goods. To do this we created a flyer that was dropped into the letterboxes of suburbs surrounding Union Jack’s Wairau Park store. Keeping with the British theme we used the headline ‘Cor Blimey!’ and kept the red, white and blue colour palette. The response was excellent with the shop posting excellent sales following the letterbox drop.

We followed this up with a double sided A5 flyer in late November. The Christmas theme telling customers about the special promotions on offer and products on sale. Again the flyer worked extremely well with the shop posting record sales over the December period.

The in-store experience also required some work and here Right Hand Man created a series of posters and in-store signage promoting Union Jack’s different food categories, promotions and online shopping. Again the headlines played on the ‘Britishness’ of the business, while making it easy for shoppers to find the foods they were looking for.

Here's What Union Jack's has to say about working with us:

“We wanted to get traction fast and Right Hand Man helped us do it. The promotions they suggested have had the tills ringing, plus we’ve been able to build a loyal following of customers in a short space of time.”
